Diamond Grading Scale

In the jewellery trade diamonds are cut, polished and then graded in terms of their colour and clarity. The four C's are important when buying diamonds, Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. Carat referring to weight, not to be confused with the term Carat when used to describe the quality of gold. e.g.. 9ct or 18ct meaning 9/24 pure gold or 18/24 pure gold.
